Our Community
Within the Common Threads Quilt Guild, we highly value our community within the guild itself and within our location in Central Ohio. These are some of ways that we build community in our guild and give back to our local community.
Meet Our Members
Meet and learn more about our current featured member and past Vice-President of the Guild, Jo Ann Newsome within our brand new Meet Our Members section.
We believe in community within our Guild and encourage our members to get to know one another better. Look for us to introduce a new member each month!
Service Programs: Giving Back to the Community
We do several different types of service projects throughout the year to give back to our local community. Some of our service programs include:
- Moms2Be Baby Quilts
- Columbus Honor Flight
- Dog & Cat Beds
Secret Pals: Get To Know a Guildmate Better
At the beginning of the year, all who want to participate fill out and turn in a Secret Pals Form. They will then receive another member’s name, to do fun “secret” things for throughout the year.
NOTE: This Community Activity requires signing up by December of the year before you participate. Contact the Secret Pals Committee for more info.
Sunshine Committee: Brighten Someone’s Day
The Sunshine Committee seeks to reach out with a personal touch to acknowledge life events both happy and sad. Cards are sent on behalf of the guild on the event of a death in the family, illness, surgery or in times of stress. We’d also love to hear about happy events, so we can share your good news in the newsletter.
