About the Common Threads Quilt Guild
We are the Common Threads Quilt Guild! We encourage the appreciation, education, and experiences of quilting. Currently totaling nearly 150 members, our Guild is open to all who have an interest in quilting, regardless of their experience. We have a very diverse group of quilters, from beginners to seasoned veterans.
Our Guild’s Purpose
- To join hands in friendship.
- To encourage high standards of design, technique, and creativity in quilting.
- To promote the appreciation and preservation of quilts.
- To preserve the art of quilt making.
- To further the art of quilting through education and communication.
What We Do & Who We Are
Our Quilt Guild centers around the above purpose, along with a plethora of Quilting Activities and Community Programs, along with a diverse offering of Events that range from monthly meetings to a full-day workshop to a weekend retreat.
The diversity of the Guild means there are members who enjoy different aspects of quilting, such as handwork, needle-turn applique, fusible applique, working with wool, traditional and/or modern patterns, etc. Members can choose to get together in large groups or in small groups, and focus on areas of quilting that interest them. No matter what we are doing, though, we strive to work in friendship as we learn from each other more about the art of quilting.
Guild Meetings
The foundation of our events, activities and community are our guild meetings. Our meetings provide monthly gatherings to learn, share and fellowship with one another – they are the heart & soul of our guild. We typically have anywhere from 50-75 members attending each meeting, with some presenters or times of the year drawing in a larger crowd.
We meet each month on the 4th Tuesday of the month at New Life Church in Gahanna. Learn more about our meetings, including what to expect and when our next one is occurring on the Events > Guild Meetings page.
